Job Description

Wickes is more than just the nation’s favourite DIY store. We’re part of the Travis Perkins Group, one of the UK’s top employers. That’s why the first thing you’ll notice at Wickes is the way everyone pulls together.  It’s a place where we’ll ask for your ideas, listen to your opinions and value the contributions you make.  Chances are you’ve never experienced anything quite like our culture.  All our colleagues come from different backgrounds, but what we all have in common is a determination to succeed and a passion for being the best we can be. If that sounds like you, we’ll make you feel right at home.

Our Supply Chain teams are responsible for the availability of our products in all of our branches and stores, either directly or through our warehousing network. They strive to ensure our customers have the right product at the right time.

As Category Supply Manager, you will continue to drive the success of our Supply Chain function. It will be your responsibility to manage the availability of our products to our stores and customers through all channels within the business. Your team will set and maintain optimum stock levels across the business, at the lowest possible costs of operation.

You will manage and coach the Product Supply Team to achieve both company and personal development objectives. Setting a good example for your team, you will drive best practice across the department to ensure constant improvements are made where possible. This will include the implementation of new initiatives and ways of working for the Product Supply Team as well as making improvements to supplier performance through all supply routes.

What are we looking for

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold at least 5 year previous experience within a Supply Chain Management role. You will also need a proven ability to manage and motivate a team to consistently deliver great results.

With a vast knowledge of end to end supply chain operations, you will have the ability to identify and implement opportunities to improve services and costs to the function.

We are looking for someone who is a team player, who is able to work cross functionally across the business to achieve business objectives and KRAs. As an effective communicator you will have the ability to influence colleagues at all levels and present key information that will help to drive business decisions.
