What are we looking for?

We are looking for an established Finance Manager who is able to partner effectively with the senior stakeholders. This role forms part of their leadership team, providing expert financial support and analysis to aid the decision making within the function. Key to this role will be the ability manage the finances around the Wickes property portfolio and fixed asset register; leading and developing an efficient month end process

What you’ll be doing;

  • Accountable for maintaining a fully reconciled environment between the various asset & property systems and the nominal ledger.
  • Responsible for all budgeting & forecasting of depreciation, rent, rates and insurance.
  • Manage the fixed asset and property month end processes. Taking responsibility for reconciliations and journal postings for asset additions, disposals, depreciation, rent, rates, etc
  • Providing insightful reporting to help shape and deliver strategies of the wider business.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s Capitalisation and Delegation of Authority policies, management of the fixed asset register, and ensure that the Group’s capital expenditure approval process runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Manage the preparation for the half year/year end schedules for Group capital reporting purposes. Dealing with tax, auditors and other external professionals as required.
  • Management and development of 1 direct report
  • Provide monthly ad-hoc financial analysis or reporting as required


What we’re looking for…

  • Recognised accountancy qualifications (ACA, CIMA,  ACCA or equivalent)

  • 2+ years PQE

  • Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering at Director level

  • Communication

  • Relationship management

  • Attention to detail

  • Understanding of analysis tools and techniques and post implementation reviews

  • Change management

  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment
