A little about the role…

We are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to manage the successful, timely and cost-effective implementation of customer led visual merchandising, graphic solutions, POS and packaging.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Work with commercial team and suppliers to develop customer led in store communications, predominantly graphics, semi-permanent POS, signage and packaging to support range reviews.

  • Actively liaise with Retail Development and third-parties to develop prototypes & fixturing as required to support in store communication plans.

  • Ensuring all implemented solutions adhere to principles for in store communications and brand guidelines, working with the Store Format team.

  • Ensuring key stakeholders are engaged with and supportive of the final communications solutions.  Key stakeholders include store format team, commercial team, operations team and retail development.

  • Co-ordinate suppliers including printers, installers and store teams to ensure timely delivery of all final solutions.

Complexity, Planning and Time Spans

  • Challenging project teams to gain a deeper understanding of customer needs to ensure communications are relevant and help the customers journey.

  • Specification of most effective production/manufacturing and installation solutions.

  • Provision of information, production specifications and installation instructions to colleagues, suppliers and contractors.

  • Brief preparation and supervision of design and artwork preparation.

  • Working to deadlines dictated by the overall range review calendar.

  • Carry reports on a monthly basis to ensure records, etc. are well maintained and available to colleagues.

Difficulties and demands of the role

  • Developing effective working relationships with other teams, e.g. Retail Development & Commercial

  • Delivering creative designs that are compelling and engaging for our customers.

  • Gaining sufficient information to ensure graphics or POS are truly relevant to the customer.

  • Developing solutions which can be mass produced and installed given the lack of consistency across the estate

  • The inherent difficulties within the design field associated with personal taste/subjectivity, and the creative views of a wide range of stakeholders

  • Developing relationships and maintaining regular contact with other departments, such as Retail Development, Operations, etc

  • Working closely with supplier, commercial team and insight team to understand customer communication needs in store for each range

Typical Decisions you will make

  • The design and production specification of communication solutions within the agreed guideline

  • Planning the best workflow to deliver design, production and implementation on time and in full.

What we are looking for in you?

  • Graduate with at least a 2:2

  • Knowledge and experience of project management, ideally gained from within a marketing or production environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of the creative process, artwork and print production

  • Able to clearly communicate requirements when briefing Artworkers, Designers and suppliers

  • Retail experience within a marketing role

  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint & Excel and or Google Applications

  • Work methodically and logically, applying a keen eye for detail

  • Display strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Multi-task, and remain calm under the pressure of tight deadlines

  • Confident, self-motivated team player with excellent communications skills.
