The team:

In Comms, we tell the story of Wickes, both to our colleagues and to the outside world. From sharing exciting updates with our teams, to creating content for Instagram and Linkedin, we help people understand who we are and what we do as an employer and a company.

During your week with us, you’ll get hands-on experience creating content, learning how ideas turn into real posts, videos, and stories that people see every day. It’s a great role if you’re creative, curious, and enjoy things like social media, writing, or video.

You'll learn:

How we communicate with our colleagues and and candidates
What branding is and how we keep everything we create looking and feeling like Wickes
Our tone of voice and how we write as Wickes
How to turn ideas into posts, videos, and stories

What you’ll do:

Help come up with ideas for social media and internal posts
Support creating simple content like captions, short videos, or photos
Sit in on team meetings and discuss our content plan
Help spot and share good stories happening across the business
Work on a small piece of content to share at the end of your placement

Who we’re looking for:

What matters most to us is your positive attitude and potential. And you’d need the following:

Be 16 years or over
A positive energy and you like a fast-paced environment!
You’re curious about how business works
You’ve got good communication skills

What we offer:

Our work experience is a voluntary placement focused on your personal development. While there is no salary, we’ll cover for your lunch and travel each day.

Our recruitment process
