The team:

Our Legal team are the protectors of the business, ensuring that risks are appropriately managed and that company projects are supported. You won’t just be looking at paperwork; you’ll be gaining a real-world look at how we navigate commercial deals, manage data, and protect the Wickes brand. You’ll also spend time with our Sustainability & Environment colleagues. It’s a chance to see how high-level decisions keep a FTSE 250 company moving forward safely.

You’ll learn:

The art of negotiating supplier contracts to keep the business protected.
How we handle data responsibly and look after our customers’ privacy.
The process of responding to legal claims and managing business risks.
How the legal team supports key strategic developments.

What you’ll do:

Get to know our team members from the different functions within the legal team (such as commercial, claims, data and sustainability)
Attend a business briefing
Undertake various tasks such as contract reviews, drafting, negotiating

Who we’re looking for:

What matters most to us is your positive attitude and potential. And you’d need the following:

Be 16 years or over
A positive energy and you like a fast-paced environment!
You’re curious about how business works
You’ve got good communication skills

What we offer:

Our work experience is a voluntary placement focused on your personal development. While there is no salary, we’ll cover for your lunch and travel each day.

Our recruitment process
