About the role:


This role provides front line Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) support, advice and guidance to stores. It supports company and statutory Health and Safety reporting requirements and delivers the second line of defence HS&E audit programme and as well as Safety improvement projects across the business. 


This role covers Wickes stores across the South and the successful candidate will be provided with a company car to support travel needs.


Key  Accountabilities


  • To plan, schedule and undertake Stay Safe reviews as determined by the Wickes SSR plan, with appropriate post audit support as required.

  • Provide clear, accurate and timely audit and other reports.

  • Deliver HSE related training in line with the business plan or as a result of specific training identified 

  • Provide competent advice and guidance on store safety compliance issues or problems. 

  • Ensure the management of  the lost time incident and investigation process, supporting managers to ensure the Just culture process is followed 

  • Ensure the effective investigation of incidents within the Division in accordance with investigation procedures

  • Ensure the timely identification and reporting of RIDDOR accidents

  • Act as a visible leader for the principles of Stay Safe.Through personal leadership style set the right tone at the top and establish an open culture encouraging a high level of communication and employer participation both internally and externally on Stay Safe issues. 

  •  Report into the the Head of Safety to identify and share any best practice or areas for improvement 

  • Support the review and update of the retail safety management framework including risk assessments, procedures and Training. 


What are we looking for:

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent

  • ISO/OHSAS Auditor Qualification

  •  CMIOSH

  • 2 + years Retail operations 

  • Understanding our safety management controls within Retail

  • Excellent Communicator (written and verbal)

  • Presentation and training experience

  • Google suite exposure

  • Project management experience
