Wickes are a digitally led, service enabled organisation with a project in every home.

We are thrilled to be recruiting for a HR Business Partner to support our Head Office colleagues in Watford.

Wickes’ culture is a best kept secret; it’s a collaborative, down to earth, fun and inclusive environment where people feel part of a winning team. It’s a place where we’ll ask for your ideas, listen to your opinions and value the contributions you make. Chances are you’ve never experienced anything quite like our culture.

The Role

Wickes are currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner to partner with the senior leadership teams and the 300 colleagues across our Support Centre in Watford (currently working remotely). Reporting to the Head of HR and working alongside the Wickes HR team, you will be responsible for bringing the HR strategy to life and for providing ‘hands on’ people management support and advice.

Wickes have a strong people led culture and as such this isn’t a traditional HR role, you will be commercially focused, able to balance both a strategic viewpoint with the ability to deliver hands on solutions and be comfortable developing relationships out in our stores as well as with our leadership teams.

You will have a clear understanding of what drives our business, the market and how this impacts the delivery of our people agenda. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to coach and challenge and you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing our leadership capability through robust talent management plans.

What are we looking for?

As a HR Business Partner you will have experience in a generalist HR role and have a proven track record of working closely with senior leadership teams.

You will be organised, enjoy working at pace and be an excellent communicator with experience in change management and possess a continuous improvement outlook. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to easily engage with colleagues at all levels and building strong working relationships is key to your success.

Supported by the Head of HR, you will work closely with the Wickes Board and will therefore need to be confident building relationships at all levels.

What can we offer you?

Wickes’ culture is a best kept secret; it’s a collaborative, down to earth, fun and inclusive environment where people feel part of a winning team. All our colleagues come from different backgrounds, but what we all have in common is a determination to succeed and a passion for being the best we can be. If that sounds like you, we’ll make you feel right at home.
