We’re looking for a Procurement Manager to join our property team. You’ll 

support the delivery of key initiatives into the store estate including Store Distribution Centre (SDC) sites, where equipment, GNFR and/ or MHE is required, through creation and organisation of scope of works, quotes, orders, contractor tenders and benchmarking, equipment prototyping and development, GNFR catalogue development management and management of contractors, suppliers and their contracts.



What you’ll be doing:

Own relationships with key suppliers, including equipment, consumables and contractors, ensuring Wickes is always getting the best value for money and appropriate levels of support. 

Develop buying, project management and reporting practices to ensure that cost, H&S & implementation risks are minimised. Identifying areas where savings/improvements can be made and developing initiatives to maximise these. 

Work on projects/ purchasing across all Property GNFR areas including Commercial, Retail and MHE

Provide continuous updates to the team and line manager on Project progress and performance

Lead management of  Property GNFR procurement to ensure the Wickes State & suppliers can meet the needs of the various business initiatives and projects.

Manage strategic planning and contract and supplier management, including negotiations, tendering and benchmarking and provide support with contract management  across the property team.

Manage the introduction of new suppliers/ Contractors/ equipment and other key consumables into the estate, prototyping new equipment and phasing in new suppliers where required and seeking the relevant sign off from the Business

Be responsible for any issues or risks associated with the overall purchasing programme. Reporting on spend vs budget and targets. 


What are we looking for:

You’ll have demonstrable experience of full end to end procurement management ideally within a similar sector. A Prince or APM qualification would be advantageous. You’ll have strong skills with regards to leadership, planning, and organisation with strong communication. As well as this we’re looking for: 

Strong MS Office skills, with knowledge of Google apps an advantage

Good commercial and financial awareness

Strong negotiation and influencing skills

Understanding of principles of project management, including 3rd party supplier contracting and contract management

The ability to be adaptable, resilient,  and self motivated.

Full UK driving licence
