Role Purpose:

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Social Media Designer based in our head office in Watford. We want a switched on, creative, eager person; who works well across teams, and will proactively come up with creative ideas for assets we could use for our social platforms.  They will be active and excited by social media creative, constantly looking for new ways to bring our products and offers to life. They should be positive and live our behaviours.


Key responsibilities -


  • Create beautiful  impactful, category leading on brand content for social platforms daily that drives clicks, swipe ups and traffic to the website.

  • Create social media assets and digital display assets across all devices and having knowledge of dynamic creative tools.

  • Understand digital design across different formats – from mobile to app to desktop to app outputs

  • Working with Studio Co-Ordinator and brief owners to ensure briefs and feedback are met and received on time.

  • Reviewing artwork to ensure it meets, or exceeds, the brief, is on brand and drives the Wickes brand forward

  • Support other briefs with artworking of campaigns, brochures and website work to maintain workflow across the studio team

What We're looking for -


Essential -


  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge and experience of Videography

  • After Effects

  • Adobe Premiere

  • Sketch

  • Photoshop

  • Illustrator is also required

  • Creative thinking

  • A keen eye for detail

  • Organised

  • Creating digital display assets across all devices

  • Knowledge of dynamic creative tools.

  • Being able to turn around quick video edits (including text on screen) for multiple channels

  • Willingness to learn and broaden skill set

  • Passion for marketing

  • Seizes initiative

Preferred -


  • Degree

  • Project management

  • Sense of initiative and able to self  manage

  • Multi-task, and remain calm under the pressure of tight deadlines

  • Flexible working style to manage key stakeholders internally and externally
