The Wickes retail distribution site at Salthouse road Brackmills is a key part of the Wickes Distribution infrastructure supporting the store replenishment side of the business. We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Recycling Operative to strengthen the existing team with enthusiastic professional individuals capable of working to a high standard. As part of your development we will train you in all aspects of the role that enable us to service our operation to a high level of consistency.

The role consists of working any 5 from 7 days 40 hours a week plus overtime when required. Shifts either Days or Lates (fixed). You will be working in the Recycling Department as part of a team. This role does require you to be working outside most of the time. 


Key Responsibilities:


  • To carry out all facets of recycling work as directed by the supervisor and where trained to do so.

  • To carry out pallet sorting and grading to the required standard for all types of pallets in use.

  • Work as part of a team in the recycling centre completing various tasks including sorting  Plastic or card on automated conveyor systems

  • Operate MHE loading and unloading of Wickes fleet and contractors vehicles.

  • Operate Telescopic fork lift and wood crushing machinery .


What are we looking for:


  • Physically fit, able to work in a predominately manual environment.

  • Ability to understand the need for excellent customer service.

  • Numerate, literate.

  • Receptive to training and continuous improvement.

  • Able to work as an individual and in a team environment

  • MHE trained  Counterbalance and Telescopic fork lift trucks

  • Manual handling trained

  • Knowledge of Company procedures.
