We are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager for Operations on a short 2 months FTC. The successful candidate will be the primary business partner for the Central Store Operations team and Property team - acting as the main point of contact in Operations Finance for their financial analysis needs. This role will be responsible for driving the profitability of Operations through production of the Operations management accounts, budgets, forecasts and project finance support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business partner to the Store Operations Director and Property Director providing financial analysis, support and challenge
  • Ownership of costs / relationships / month end / budgeting relating to Wages, Shrinkage, R&M, Variable Costs and relevant Development costs
  • Ownership of the Property Programme - develop and deliver financial investment appraisal and post implementation reviews to assure appropriate allocation of investment capital/revenue for the store operational areas of the business (e.g. refit, new store opportunities)
  • Responsible for the forecasting, budgeting, ongoing risks and opportunities, 5YP and longer term planning processes for the Operations function, ensuring all stakeholders are appropriately engaged
  • Ownership of review and sign off of monthly financial results for Operations and production of the monthly management accounts slides
  • Central point of contact within Operations Finance for the FP&A / FR&C team on all Wickes/Group deliverables
  • Driving a cost conscious and lean culture into the Operations function, providing relevant ad-hoc analysis and insight to Operations to drive bottom line profit
  • Leadership, recruitment and development of a team of 2 financial professionals ensuring appropriate resourcing, skillset and structure to deliver effective business support.
What are we looking for:
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • 3+yrs post qualified experience
  • Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering at Director level
  • Sound understanding of accounting/control and investment appraisal principles
  • Good understanding of retail operations environment
