Are you an experienced Technical Project Manager with a background preferably in Retail, maybe you are looking for a new and exciting opportunity for 2025, if so, we would love to hear from you? While we’ve been around for a long time, this is a new journey for us as we become a stand-alone PLC. Come and join our newly formed Technology team as we embark on a very exciting roadmap which introduces multiple new, foundational capabilities into Wickes to achieve the company's core objectives.
Wickes is a forward-thinking and innovative business that is entering its digital and IT growth phase and this role will be part of that transformation.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Enterprise Engineering, you will be part of our Enterprise Delivery teams, responsible for managing a wide range of technical projects which will involve engagement with both our internal technical architects and third parties. The projects will involve many aspects of the Wickes infrastructure and end user computer landscape, with hands-on activities including, upgrading, configuring, patching, building, supporting and maintaining both hardware and software.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for executing and managing complex projects relating to third parties. Engaging cross-functional teams in end to end processes, to ensure projects are completed in line with timeframes, budget and scope. With exceptional leadership skills you will have a proven track record in leading and empowering teams, ensuring full engagement with our third parties that are both nearshore and offshore. Proven experience of achieving successful outcomes through utilising Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Ability to develop and execute a project resource plan that ensures that the right people are in the right place doing the right things at the right time. Working across our stores, Head Office and Distribution Centre systems, you will have knowledge and exposure to Mobile and HHT’s including iOS and Android, our servers are Cloud hosted, AWS, GCP with physical servicer, JHypervosrs. Infrastructure includes Networking across Local, Wide Area and Wireless Network knowledge and Patch Management and Deployment such as SCCM / WSUS and Qualys
You’ll need a distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills required to build trusted relationships with a cross-section of Wickes stakeholders.Having proven depth and breadth of experience in the Retail landscape, understanding systems and processes. You'll have good judgement, a sense of urgency and will have demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity. A critical thinker, strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, self-motivated and possessing a high sense of urgency and personal integrity. You’ll have great interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships at all levels and be able to influence.
