Transport Manager

Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Transport Line Manager to ensure all levels of Transport compliance are met, managing a front desk team and assigned Drivers, dealing with day to day transport issues, reviews and performance, alongside store communication. 

Please note: We require the chosen candidate to have the ability to work over an 8 hour window to provide flexibility as required to cover for holidays and absence, this may also include some on-call weekend cover. The hours this role will cover will be the 2-10pm shift.

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for all day to day running of the transport office and driving teams 

• An understanding of transport compliance to ensure Wickes expected standards are met to ensure O’Licence regulations are met and exceeded .

• Responsible of health and safety within the shift alongside doing regular LGIR checks to ensure team remain within  SOP as defined by Wickes Transport Management

• Liaise with warehouse teams on loading and unloading, managing burst-out recovery to store.

• Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to.

• Manage daily inspection and defect reporting.

• Liaise with other line managers / Shifts when required to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate

• Any other duties as reasonably requested by the management team.

• Knowledge of transport methods, costs and benefits.

• Good geographical knowledge.
