We are looking for a Accounts Payable Non Stock Team Leader to join our transforming and supportive team. Ideally, you will have experience managing small teams, driving, and supporting change, and experience of working within a busy high-volume, transactional finance retail team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and mentor a team of 4/6 staff dealing with non stock invoices.
- Ensure all invoices are processed correctly and within payment terms
- Identify training and development needs for the team, build a plan to ensure these needs are met
- Ensure team members are cross trained on all areas of Accounts payable.
- Develop & manage strong relationships with key stakeholders of our business.
- Responsible for the aged creditors, to ensure no monthly/year-end issues
- Ensure queries are resolved quickly for all internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with improving the current KPIs and develop new KPIs for the business
- Review current controls and implement improvements
- Responsible for key supplier accounts, building relationships and managing queries efficiently.
- Provide Cash Flow forecasting to the Accounts Payable Manager
- Ensure compliance with supplier setups on the system, liaising with relevant teams as required
- Rectify any miss postings in a timely manner and ensure that improved processes are adopted to avoid miss postings in the future
- Provide support to the finance function in terms of analytics and ad hoc requests
- Generate Bacs runs and overseas payments as required
- Assist with month end close, re-coding, preparing accrual journal and ensuring all prepayments have been allocated.
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager and Head of Financial Transactions
- Minimum of two years of leadership experience, ideally in a retail environment.
- For you to be a natural leader, someone who uses a coaching approach to get the best out of people
- To be self-motivated, and a self-starter, but also able to build relationships and work as part of a team
- Must be comfortable with high volumes of transactions and be able to manage different workstreams and prioritise workload
- To have strong attention to detail and a high level of computer accuracy
- A confident communicator; written and verbal
- A positive can-do attitude, especially when faced with challenges and time constraints
