We are excited to announce we are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for Fixed Assets. The focus of this role will be to assist with the management of fixed assets and IFRS16 lease accounting; helping to ensure strong financial control and reporting.
This role is key to ensuring a robust control environment so that the company’s non current assets are accounted for and reported in accordance with accounting policies. In addition, it sits in the financial control and reporting team and as such the role should appeal to someone who has an interest in technical accounting.
Working pattern: 2 days in the office (ideally Tuesday & Thursday), 3 days working from home. Please note, if successful, there will be an expectation to be present in the office more than 2 days per week for the initial induction/training period.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining the asset registers and helping to perform a smooth month end process, including posting period close journals as required on a timely basis
Updating the lease accounting system LOIS with new leases and other changes for IFRS 16 accounting
Carry out reconciliations between source systems/databases, asset registers and the general ledger
Assist with budgeting and forecasting for fixed assets and IFRS16 for both balance sheet and p&l
Review capital expenditure requests and invoices in line with CapEx policies and approval hierarchy
Assist in improving the financial control and reporting environment for Property, Plant & Equipment
Provide information and insight to stakeholders (internal & external) as and when required
Other ad hoc reporting duties as required
What are we looking for?
Started studying ACCA or a equivalent accounting qualification (Essential)
Experience working in a large finance team
Experience maintaining an asset register (Preferred)
Operating in an environment experiencing significant business process change
Knowledge of IAS 16 - Property, Plant & Equipment
Knowledge of IFRS 16 - Leases
Well organised with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate at all levels
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive; using self-initiative
Team player
