Finance Analyst - Fixed Assets & Property

Here at Wickes we are embarking on an exciting journey in our history as we move forward as a Plc, having recently separated from Travis Perkins. As a result our Finance department is growing and we are thrilled to announce that we are recruiting a Finance Analyst for Fixed Assets & Property, to join our Finance team in our Support Centre in Watford.

This role will assist with the management of fixed assets and property portfolio accounting; helping to ensure robust financial control and reporting. It will also be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the fixed asset and lease asset registers.

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintaining the fixed asset register and helping to perform a smooth month end process, including posting journals as required on a timely basis

• Updating the lease asset register with new leases and other changes for IFRS 16 accounting

• Carry out reconciliations between source systems/databases, asset registers and the nominal ledger

• Review capital expenditure requests and invoices in line with CapEx policies and approval hierarchy

• Assist in improving the financial control and reporting environment for Property, Plant & Equipment

• Provide information and insight to stakeholders (internal & external) as and when required

• Other ad hoc reporting duties as required

What are we looking for:

• Studying ACCA or a equivalent accounting qualification

• Experience maintaining an asset register

• Operating in an environment experiencing significant business process change

• Strong Excel skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Knowledge of IAS 16 - Property, Plant & Equipment

• Knowledge of IFRS 16 - Leases

• Well organised with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to communicate at all levels

• Team player
