Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Finance Analyst for Stock and Imports. This role will directly report into the Head of Commercial Finance, and will focus on providing financial stewardship to the stock and import procurement areas, ensuring a robust end to end process, supported by rigorous reviews and controls.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly stock reconciliations for warehouses and stores, ensuring variances and anomalies are progressively followed up and positioned with the Commercial and Operational teams for resolution.

  • Work collaboratively with the business teams to gain a granular understanding of the key drivers of stock value and volume movement including cost price increases (CPI), seasonal trends and strategic purchases.

  • Provide robust financial control for the import procurement process, liaising with Procurement, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to ensure a joined up holistic view that quickly identifies any potential risk or opportunity.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify and improve stock and import  processes, so that issues are identified earlier and forwarding looking forecasts and plans are accurately produced.

  • Point of contact for stock and import areas in relation to internal and external audits

  • Providing insightful reporting to help shape and deliver strategies of the wider business

  • Assist with any ad hoc requests, queries or analysis, to help the smooth, efficient working of the Finance function


What are we looking for from you?

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) 

  • Broad finance experience (Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering preferred)

  • Proficiency in MS Office with good Excel skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Financially literate

  • Problem solving skills

  • Team player/happy to help/can do attitude

  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise work.

  • Hard working and proactive

  • Enthusiastic and inquisitive

  • Retail industry knowledge

  • Well organised, flexible, and able to operate in a fast paced environment

  • Good influencing skills, with gravitas to positively impact on behaviours

  • Capable of providing drive and bringing passion to the role
