Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Finance Process Lead. This role will be responsible for contributing the Finance requirements set across all finance processes, taking direction from the relevant Finance Process Owner, and consulting with the wider Finance Community, Tech team & other lead SME’s to provide specialised business knowledge and requirements for both existing and future systems; considering the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. It will also involve providing continued support for the development of the product until delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and represent the needs of our three main customer types, DIFM, Trade & DIY
Provide a detailed understanding of the current Finance processes / controls, systems, capabilities, requirements, its interactions upstream and downstream including any dependencies between systems
Provide a detailed understanding of the needs for Finance, including both the Finance team and other business user of Finance outputs, the systems functionality and the overall objective of the syste
Understand the future Finance Roadmap (i.e. target process outcomes) for each individual finance process, and capable of interpreting these into functional / technical requirements which can be analysed and assessed against the options available in the technology market & competitors
Capture and articulate to the IT Program leadership and other SMEs financial control improvements which should be targeted in the new systems and related processes, both programmed and operational, to improve the quality and effectiveness of the end to end finance data flows, and underpinning the outcomes required of a Public Company.
Work collaboratively with other lead SME’s and key stakeholders to represent Finance functional sets’ requirements across all relevant workstreams
Ensure consideration in design for simplicity, efficiency, improved customer experience and business growth in both system design and operational processes
Effective stakeholder management and communication
Support end user change management
What are we looking for:
Strong accounting knowledge / skills, by qualification or experience
Experience of technology driven transformation projects, preferably within a multi-channel retail environment
Ability to understand end-to-end process flows, both as a finance user but also to understand the requirements of wider business users
Ability to work both as part of a team, as well also autonomously
Translate finance needs into IT requirements
Ability to interrogate concepts and ideas with effective questioning to ensure understanding and clarity of direction
A deep understanding of our customer profiles and customer types
Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
