We’re looking for an Internal Communications Creative Designer for a period of 6 months to work with the Studio Manager to assist in the day to day delivery of all internal communication for Wickes.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Create, write and establish a set of Internal Comms guidelines - which can then be followed by others internally and externally. 

  • Work collaboratively across the business to drive up the standards of creativity, championing creative excellence and innovation, using a strong eye for aesthetics and visual detail.

  • Present creative concepts/ideas to the Studio Manager, Head of Marketing and Head of Internal Comms.

  • Create, proof and deliver all graphics and requests for the Communications team across various formats

  • Work closely with the Communications team to deliver campaigns in line with the internal and external business strategy

  • An ability to work on a number of projects at any time, prioritise and deliver ‘right first time’ output

  • A great understanding of digital and print requirements and their role in ensuring that final print ready artwork files are delivered on time, and ready to go



What are we looking for:

  • A Design / Graphics degree or equivalent 

  • Extensive experience in the creative industry with a breadth and depth of understanding 

  • Expertise gained from similar inhouse and/or agency experience with excellent understanding of industry practice

  • A CV and portfolio that displays a high level of creativity and a genuine passion for creative design across print and digital

  • Must be able to use; Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator

  • Able to storyboard ideas to convey response to brief 

  • Keen creative eye, able to recognise how to drive engagement and look at ways to push the brand forward 

  • Understand digital design across different formats – from mobile to app to desktop to app outputs - and deliver the best creative for each format

  • Keen attention to detail, continually striving to deliver ‘right first time’ creative

  • Organised, able to manage time and project delivery 

  • Able to get to the root of feedback to quickly understand what needs to subsequently be done

  • Work alongside team members to ensure creative campaigns can work from a social/digital aspect

  • Being able to turn around quick video edits (including text on screen) for multiple channels.

  • Passion for creativity and marketing, constantly seeking out new creative ideas

  • Able to seize initiative 

  • Multi-tasker, able to remain calm under the pressure of tight deadlines.

  • Resilient, able to accept feedback and move forward
