Wickes are a digitally led, service enabled organisation with a project in every home.
Role Purpose:
To manage the Wickes Kitchen & Bathroom national transport operation and the compliance of the Wickes SDN & HDC Networks. To lead change and ensure day to day operations, compliance and performance. The job holder will be expected to manage the Legal and Safety compliance of Wickes PLC and budget as set by the Head of distribution.
Please note: Due to the nature of the role, a degree of flexibility is required around the working hours as per business requirements. This means that when needed there is an expectation to work evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Manger the transport ‘O’ license and required legal obligations for the Wickes SDN & HDN Operations
Lead the Wickes PLC transport compliance team responsible for the company car scheme, vehicle lease, maintenance program, driver training and all legal requirements for Wickes delivery drivers and agencies.
Management of the scheduling and planning of the national K&B transport operation, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels met.
Management of sub contracted partners, remote out-bases and the performance of these operations to the required customer satisfaction, budget and contractual performance.
Control costs to ensure the budgetary targets are met for the overall operation.
Work closely with the warehouse to deliver end to end efficiencies and improved service and ensure that change projects deliver the required benefit within the K&B transport operation.
Deliver team member performance reviews, development and succession planning as appropriate.
Manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policy.
Create IR and H&S strategy to maximise audit results
Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure Company policies are communicated, applied and enforced.
Develop and ensure company policies & procedures, statutory and Legal standards and environmental requirements are maintained and continuously improved.
Lead the fleet management team to ensure damage reduction.
What are we looking for?
Experience in a role managing +100 fleet
Budget responsibility in excess of £15m
Change management
National CPC
Knowledge of paragon and Microlise
Knowledge and experience of transport legislation
Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality.
Credible and comfortable in dealing with Senior Management
Reliable, tolerant and determined.
Computer literate
Systems / Process implementation experience
Competent understanding of business finance such as P&L and budgets
Able to construct & present operating models, business cases and scenarios
Fulfilling the customer promise
Driving performance
Generating enthusiasm for our business
