We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to work on and lead our multi award winning strategically important hero sponsorship. From briefing radio credits to photoshoots and seeing your DPSs live in Grazia and hearing your activations live on air. This is a varied role with a primary focus on our valued partnership portfolio as well as creating our ATL advertising strategy across creative and media across 2 of our key audiences - Trade & DIY. 


What you’ll be doing

You’ll own the partnership strategy and activity across DIY and Trade, collaborating with agencies and partners directly to develop and execute award winning sponsorships. 

Working across Radio, Print and Online ensuring our inventory is delivered on time and inline with the wider business strategy. 

Ensuring our partners are delivering on agreed inventory and holding our agency to account. 

Lead strategic development of sponsorship comms ensuring we engage with relevant audiences and messaging is consistently delivered across channels.

Accountable for Wickes TradePro communications with a goal to deliver quality sign ups to the scheme. 

Lead all Core/DIY advertising across, TV, Radio, Social and Online Video. Working with our media agency and internal specialist teams. Collaborating with line manager to develop media strategy for the year. Looking at analysis and learnings from previous activity, as well as econometrics. With a particular focus on Social and Online Video have an in depth understanding of all media performance. Have an awareness of media trends and challenge our media agency to think outside the box. 

Working with our creative and content agencies, internal studio and directly with sound studios and post houses with the support of line manager, develop and execute creative across ATL channels. Write detailed briefs ensuring creative is developed on time and within budget. With a focus on Radio production, build a relationship with our sound studio, write scripts, get scripts cleared with Legal and Radiocentre and act as a producer and client to ensure we hit delivery deadlines. 

Responsible for campaign management of monthly comms campaigns. Leading an internal cross functional process to ensure all channels (POS, Social, PR, Online, CRM, Digital, Instore Radio) execute aligned and consistent comms. 

Have an in-depth understanding of our trading plan, products and promotional calendar, working with commercial category managers and the trade planning team. Become confident in talking about and briefing stakeholders on the trading and promotional plan. Act as the point of contact with commercial to ensure all marketing teams are aware of price/offer changes and are briefed on correct dates.  

Track all budget and spend. Responsible for: raising POs, reconciling spend, re-forecasting budget, updating line manager and head of. Work closely with finance and suppliers to ensure timely processing. 

Help line manager with management of talent brand ambassadors. Organising shoots, dealing with product requests and ensuring content is sent for approval.  


What we’re looking for:

Ideally of graduate calibre you’ll have  demonstrable experience in marketing or agency experience at a similar level. You’ll be experienced in the development and production of ATL & BTL creative as well as budget management and accountability ensuring funds are focused on activities to deliver the strongest customer centric comms plan. You’ll also be able to demonstrate: 

  • Cross functional Stakeholder management to ensure multiple objects are met

  • Leading creative and media agencies

  • Managing multiple sponsorship partners 

  • Managing multiple projects ensuring cross functional buy-in and senior leadership sign off

  • Decisive in strategy formulation

  • Creative thinking and problem solving

  • Strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to deliver documents such as Briefs, Business Cases, Management Reports and Budget

  • Project and stakeholder management

  • Team leadership with the ability to role model winning behaviours and manage, mentor and develop members of their team

  • Knowledge of full TTL comms mix, budget management, research and Econometrics
