You may already have some experience in a similar role or you might have just finished your studies and be ready to embark on your career.
Wickes’ culture is our best kept secret; it’s a collaborative, down to earth, fun and inclusive environment where people feel part of a winning team. What you'll be doing:
You’ll support a Commercial Systems Manager, responsible for providing insight into our GNFR (Goods not for resale) supplier performance to support and take part in contract negotiations and you will be responsible for processing completed agreements through our contract management system.
This role is designed to support the GNFR Commercial teams and the wider business by delivering business critical analysis, allowing the business to practise data led decision making. This will be achieved by clear and concise communication of occasionally complex information, suitable for various audiences, to support the commercial teams in a wide variety of areas. These will include analysis of Carbon Emission tracking, collecting and analysing Packaging Sustainability data, and crucially working closely with our suppliers to support them using our Supplier EPOS portal. This will allow the Wickes business to adapt and thrive in the fast moving world of modern retail, increasing customer loyalty, sales, profit and market share.
You will be working across many of our internal departments, so stakeholder management will be a key skill that you will develop, allowing you to gain valuable exposure to the commercial world and nurture vital skills to build a successful career. You will also work closely with our suppliers using our supplier portals, working with them to draw insight from their sales, stock and accounts data to drive action throughout the supply chain.
From day one you can expect to be trusted with real responsibility. Wickes will recognise you for your hard work and you will make a real impact on our business. From the start, you’ll join a team of people who will give you the support, opportunity and scope to further develop and progress your career.
What are we looking for:
If you’re looking to start a successful analyst career with the Wickes team you will need to be great with numbers, sharp with data, and not afraid to use the insight you generate to challenge the status quo.
As a part of a hard working, highly collaborative team you will need the confidence to build relationships both internally and externally with suppliers, to be prepared to work at pace, hold your own under pressure and most of all not be afraid to get stuck in.
We are looking for individuals that are, ideally, educated to degree level.
On top of your academic achievements and experience, we’re looking for a real interest in gaining exposure to the commercial and buying side of the Wickes business as part of developing your career with us.
Key Responsibilities:
● Understanding data and providing reports and insight whilst working to tight deadlines and managing expectations.
● Being proactive in challenging and correcting inaccurate information to ensure the reports are reflective of actual performance.
● Developing and automating regular reports and ensuring all requirements are captured.
● Liaising with many internal and external stakeholders to maintain crucial information in our data systems
● Supporting a Commercial Systems Manager with tracking and reporting on income raised through our supplier portals
● Liaising with suppliers and the rebates team to manage supplier rebates and report this to the Finance team
