Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Credit Control Manager on a 14 month contract basis.
As a skilled finance professional you will be responsible for ensuring that the rebates process operates in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the commercial team, acting as a key person when working collaboratively with our suppliers and internally across our Wickes business. You will work pro-actively to resolve problems and queries that arise for all things relating to supplier rebate invoicing.
Naturally, you will have the ability to develop great relationships across a range of stakeholder groups. Being able to flex your approach in different situations is essential coupled with the ability to thrive in an environment that can often be ambiguous. Having a results focused approach is key, as is having an aptitude for finding simple solutions to problems or barriers with a positive can do approach.
This role presents the opportunity and challenge of working in a dynamic and exciting environment within one of the UK’s largest dedicated home improvement and digitally enabled retailer.
Key responsibilities:
Ensuring all Rebates, Trading Agreements and any other Ad Hoc deals loaded within the Dealtrack system are reconciled, invoiced and collected in a timely manner
Managing all aspects of the Rebates Team. This team consists of 2 rebate analysts, a rebates controller and a rebates administrator.
Reconciling the Rebate balance sheet accounts at a supplier, year and deal level each period-end by WD5.
Managing and overseeing the Sales Ledger function. This is all sundry income invoicing from around the company.
Working closely with Commercial Finance and Commercial teams to complete the rebates re-alignment process.
Ensuring efficient and effective systems and controls are in place
Liaise with Accounts Payable / Commercial/ Supply Chain where supplier payment issues cause problems collecting income from suppliers
What are we looking for:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualified
Credit control background
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Team Management experience
Rebate/ Retro experience (preferred)
Worked in an industry with stock (preferred)
Proficiency in English and in MS Office
Strong excel skills
High degree of accuracy
VAT knowledge
