Come and join our Customer Insight team as our Senior Analytics Manager where you’ll be responsible for the customer analytics function, directly influencing customer strategy and business decisions. 

You’ll work closely with stakeholders from across the business,  translating complex data into actionable insight - ensuring data led decisions are made across the business to improve performance and customer experience. 


Success in this position requires a balance of technical expertise, sharp commercial insight, and the ability to inspire and lead. You’ll lead and mentor a team of analysts, guiding them to translate complex data into compelling, actionable insights.


What you’ll be doing:

Leading a team of analysts, you’ll own the end-to-end delivery of analytics projects and guide the team in using advanced analytics techniques to generate insights that improve commercial performance and customer experience. You’ll ensure consistent, high-quality analytical standards and methodologies are applied across the team and oversee the use of relevant tools and technologies such as SQL and Looker. You’ll also manage 3rd party partners. 


You’ll build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the business, championing the customer agenda in business critical decision making, ensuring insights are understood and leveraged by both technical and non-technical audiences.


You’ll collaborate with senior leaders to understand business challenges, translate them into analytical questions, and provide clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions. You’ll work across internal teams to ensure data we have is best in class data, and that our data infrastructure and tools support the data and insight requirements. You’ll contribute to the overall data strategy and data governance initiatives of Wickes 


What we’re looking for:

To be successful as our Senior Analytics Manager, we’d expect you to have in-depth experience in an Analytics role, including SQL, reporting and advanced data handling skills to provide insights. Ideally this will be in Retail.  You’ll be an experienced people manager, and a confident communicator capable of owning projects from end to end. As well as this you: 

  • Will have functional and technical understanding and competence in the Google reporting and data warehouse architecture

  • Be highly articulate, personable, engaging and able to explain complex data in simple terms

  • Well organised, flexible and responsive to competing priorities

  • Be energetic, positive and  lead by example, able to encourage and motivate colleagues

  • Google Cloud Platform experience, particularly BigQuery and Datastudio would be desirable
