We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to be a business partner to the Commercial team - acting as the main point of contact in Commercial Finance for their financial analysis needs. This role will be responsible for driving the profitability of Commercial through insight, forecasts and business case support as well as ensuring financial control across relevant balance sheet areas.
Key Accountabilities:
Business partner to the Commercial Category Director and Category Managers providing financial analysis, support and challenge.
Ownership of business case support and post investment reviews to ensure that expected benefits are being realised. This includes reporting on performance using different KPIs and financial measures.
Ownership of relevant commercial financial controls (e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, relevant commercial costs, supplier revenue / costs) and drive to continually improve them.
Owning the budgeting & forecasting process of sales and margin for relevant product categories as well as understanding ongoing risks and opportunities, ensuring all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.
Driving improved understanding and insight of business profitability through different lenses (e.g. fulfilment channel, order channel, type of customer)
Proactively working with the members of the Commercial team, to help them improve knowledge ,increase profitability and understand category performance.
Leading and developing a finance analyst.
What are we looking for:
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering at Director level
Ability to challenge , engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
Strong communication skills
Building and maintaining relationships with others to include key stakeholders and non-Finance team members
Organisation / prioritisation
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Articulation
Excel skills
Retail industry knowledge
Sound understanding of accounting/control and investment appraisal principles
