Are you an experienced SEO Manager or Senior SEO Executive looking for that next step in your career. If yes?, then look no further. We have an exciting opportunity for an SEO Manager to join our marketing team here at Wickes.  This is a new and exciting role reporting into our Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

The SEO Manager will sit within our Digital and Trading team and be responsible for managing the SEO channel alongside both our SEO and Local SEO agencies. You will work cross functionally with other teams such as Digital and Marketing, Trading, Digital Experience, Development & PR teams.  Digital is a huge focus for us and this role will support in driving our sales and ensuring we are best in class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You’ll deliver the Digital team objectives through organic search performance improvements to increase website’s organic traffic and attributed sales.
  • Working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, you’ll be able to build strong relationships quickly.
  • You’ll be influential in the decision making both externally and across the whole digital team to ensure SEO remains at the forefront within the Digital strategy.
  • Working with the Paid Search team you’ll create a balanced environment for both SEO & PPC and deliver a successful “combined search” strategy.
  • You’ll oversee the strategy of the channel, Leading on multiple processes
  • You’ll manage our Local SEO agency, SEO listings, ensuring we are maximising our local visibility in the SERP, and identify other potential opportunities to assist in driving improvements in the channel.
  • Monitor our search terms, rankings and analytics to monitor SEO performance of the Wickes website and make recommendations for improvement.

What are we looking for:

We are looking for someone that can work in a fast paced environment that has a thirst for learning that wants to continue to develop and progress their career.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEO Manager or Senior SEO Executive with a background in Retail or agency, although not essential.

  • You’ll be up to date with SEO best practice/impact of Google algorithm
  • You’ll have experience with Google Analytics, GA4, SEMrush and Google Search Console
  • You’ll be able to develop SEO strategies to maximise SERP visibility and rank opportunity through transactional and non transactional content optimisation
  • With excellent stakeholder management skills you will have the ability to build relationships quickly with a diverse set of stakeholders confident, credible communicator, a strong team player, and a SEO enthusiast.
  • You’ll be a self starter that can work under tight deadlines, have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
