    We are delighted to be recruiting for a Marketing Assistant for our expanding in-house socal team within the marketing department at Wickes. This brand new role gives an exciting opportunity for a creative, energetic  and organised individual who is wanting to immerse themselves in social media for a growing and successful company.  


    Based partly in our Watford Support Centre, and partly at home, this one year placement role is responsible for helping with the day to day running of the organic social media content  and projects across several platforms. This role is of growing importance to Wickes as we use social media to inspire new and existing customers with relevant, topical  and helpful content to support our showroom, DIY and trade parts of the business.

    Your responsibilities:

      

    • Support the social media team coming up with ideas that are creative and engaging to put out onto our social media channels: Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn.

    • Posting relevant and engaging content organically to our TradePro account across facebook and instagram. 

    • Carry out research into our target audience to find out what makes them tick on social media using our social listening platform Meltwater.

    • Help to continue shaping our organic social media strategy by supporting the social media team with regular reporting of our social activity including what worked, what didn’t work and what we could do better.

    • Assist the social team with finding and using images and videos Wickes is tagged in on social media on our platform Olapic so that we can promote User Generated Content on our channels.

    • Use Trustpilot to find our best reviews and share on social media as well as with the wider marketing team.

    • Create a Facebook group for our TradePro community which you will use to regularly engage with our TradePro members by providing relevant, funny, cool, interesting updates about things in the Trade and our latest offers.

    • Be the Design Consultant champion in the social media team; you’ll visit our Wickes showrooms regularly to build relationships with our DCs who design and build our customers’ kitchens and bathrooms. You’ll create content around your findings, such as top tips, how tos, and share in-store images to our social media channels.

    • Support the social media team with our influencer marketing campaigns helping to write briefs, liaising with internal stakeholders to provide discounts and products to influencers and sharing learnings from our campaigns.

    • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and share relevant information with the wider marketing team.

    • Helping to pull and analyse the numbers and write the monthly social report so we closely track our performance. 

     


    What we are looking for in you: 

    • Graduate/under graduate

    • A true social media native, you post on Instagram Stories, you were the first to download TikTok, you love binge-watching YouTube and you get your news from Twitter.

    • Being creative comes naturally to you, you see something on social media and you immediately want to give it a go - experience with creative software such as Adobe tools is beneficial.

    • You question ‘why’ when things go well or not so well.

    • You’re proactive, confident and resilient.

    • Great at writing copy, with meticulous attention to detail 

    • Organised, reliable and responsive.

    • Good team player.

    • Good analytical skills with the ability to draw insight from data

    • Happy to be flexible and get involved in any task where we may need you
