Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Transport Compliance Manager to manage the SDN transport compliance on a day to day basis. Working with Admin to ensure that all vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with legal requirements and drivers hours and infringements are monitored to ensure full compliance to all rules and regulations.
Please note: Due to the nature of the role, a degree of flexibility is required around the working hours as per business requirements. This means that when needed there is an expectation to work to early starts, evenings, Bank Holidays and weekends, also covering on shift line manager holiday.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure all vehicle and trailers are serviced in line with legal requirements
Ensure all vehicle and trailers are MOT’d in line with legal requirements
Ensure that a rigorous defect reporting process is in place and no vehicles are operated with any known defects that require the vehicle to be VOR’d
Ensure all vehicle service/MOT records are maintained and paperwork is received before vehicles are removed from VOR status
First point of conduct for all vehicle spot hires, will conduct PDI and Exit surveys of all spot hire vehicles at Salthouse Road.
Support the intake of new core and EOL of all Networked vehicles, developing intake and return plans
Support the role out of any vehicle modifications
Driver Tacho and WTD management.
Supporting Ops team to ensure risk assessments and general H&S in the store delivery network is followed at all times.
Ensure all driver mandates are completed with ARI.
What are we looking for:
O’Level/GCSEs
Experience in a role managing + fleet
Budget responsibility in excess of £4m
Change management
National CPC
In Depth Knowledge of Transport Legislation
Reliable, tolerant and determined.
Eye for detail
Computer literate
Systems/Process implementation
Competent understanding of business finance such as P&L and budgets
