Working Hours = 14:00 - 22:00
Role Purpose:
To manage the transport operation on a day-to-day basis. Working with admin to ensure that day to day running of the transport operation is up to date. All vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with legal requirements and drivers hours and infringements are monitored to ensure full compliance to all rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and motivate a transport team to achieve daily output objectives and KPI’s.
- Implement all relevant transport related standards and procedures.
- Ensure that a rigorous defect reporting process is in place and no vehicles are operated with any known defects that require the vehicle to be VOR’d.
- Ensure all vehicle service/MOT records are maintained and paperwork is received before vehicles are removed from VOR status.
- Driver Tacho and WTD management.
- Supporting Ops team to ensure risk assessments and general H&S in the store delivery network is followed at all times.
- Ensure absence and holiday cover is in place for the role and also assist in absentee and holiday cover where required.
- Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated.
- Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication.
About you...
Ideally you would have experience in change management and have a strong leadership/management background. In depth knowledge of transport legislation will be key for this position.
National CPC qualification is required.
